Razer Is Making Surgical Masks To Help With Coronavirus Pandemic

It looks like gaming peripheral company Razer is stepping up to the plate in a big way to provide assistance in the fight against the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan recently took to Facebook to speak about what the company is doing in its bid to reduce risk for the staff in stores and in manufacturing. In the comments, one fan asked Tan if he would be willing to commit to producing surgical masks for the less fortunate, to which Tan responded that he would “think about it.”

It looks like giving it some thought was all it took for Tan to commit having the company begin production on surgical masks. The CEO took to Twitter to release a statement opening up about what Razer plans on doing to aid in the recovery efforts regarding the coronavirus pandemic, stating at one point that the goal is to donate “up to 1M masks to the health authorities of different countries globally.”

Min-Liang Tan goes on to state that Razer’s global/regional offices will be reaching out to governments and health authorities to determine the best ways in which the surgical masks can be distributed. “All of us have a part to play and we should be doing whatever we can with the situation getting more serious,” Tan continues. “Please keep yourself and your family safe – and [let’s] support each other in these trying times. The team at Razer is stepping up to do what we can.”
