Resident Evil has been one of the most enduring franchises in gaming and the past few years have proven to be quite pleasing to fans. Many saw Resident Evil 7 as a proper return to horror form for the franchise and the recent remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 have been praised as some of the best game remakes ever. Fans are also quite excited about the upcoming Resident Evil Village game, which is meant to be both the 8th core game in the series as well as a direct follow-up to Resident Evil 7. Now, Capcom is gaging fan interest in a potential Resident Evil Village demo.

Capcom has released a new Resident Evil Village survey asking fans various questions related to their interest in the Resident Evil series. Some of the questions gauge which Resident Evil games fans have played before and how fans think about the title of “Resident Evil Village.” The latter question wonders whether the title expresses the eighth core game in the franchise and that it is a horror game. One interesting section in the Resident Evil Village survey also asks how much a presumed fan might like to play a Resident Evil Village demo.

The question poses at what point the consumer might purchase the game, such as buying at launch or waiting for reviews to come out for the game. One answer is “I’d prefer to try a demo before I purchase,” while another question directly asks how interested the consumer would be in playing such a demo. This would imply that Capcom would be open to making a Resident Evil Village demo available, which is a similar approach to how Capcom built interest for the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes. Hopefully, Capcom does decide to release a demo for the game, as they can often give new players an idea of what the game experience is like before committing to a purchase. After all, it takes a Village.
