Capcom Confirms that Resident Evil 7 will not be Available on the Nintendo Switch

While Capcom is listed as one of the many development partners for the Nintendo Switch, the Resident Evil series is currently not set to make an appearance on Nintendo’s newest console. Capcom confirms in an interview with Express Online that producer Masachika Kawata considers the Switch to be “a very unique piece of hardware,” and that he is “looking forward to the possibilities of the system itself, but we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch.”

That’s not to say that Capcom won’t release new Resident Evil games for the Switch in the future, though, be it a console exclusive or otherwise. For now, people looking to pick up the Switch when it comes out on March 3rd will have to settle for what’s currently on the launch list, which you can see during our coverage of the event here. Resident Evil 7 arrives on PlayStation, Xbox One, and PC on January 24. The latest Resident Evil movie, The Final Chapter, comes out on January 27, so it’s still an awesome end of the month for Resident Evil fans.
