Several Dungeons and Dragons game are in the works, but later this year Baldur’s Gate 3 is heading to early access on Steam. From the developers that created the incredible Divinity: Original Sin series, Larian Studios teamed up with Wizards of the Coast to create the highly anticipated sequel to grace the D&D scene. Even better news? Baldur’s Gate 3 is heading to early access.

According to Wizards of the Coast parent company Hasbro, Baldur’s Gate 3 is heading to early access later this year on Steam. According to an investor’s call (via DSOG), the team plans to release said game and Dark Alliance in 2020 as they continue to invest resources into an additional five other Dungeons and Dragons projects for the next several years. That’s a total o seven D&D games planned on their timeline.

Later this month, fans will get a peek at some gameplay during PAX East 2020 as well. After the breathtaking teaser that revealed motion-capture action scenes and dialogue, music, and more – we’re ready for more! Based on previous news we’ve covered on Baldur’s Gate 3, the upcoming game will feature more than 100 hours of content and the reprisal of familiar characters. According to Larian Studios, this will be the largest role-playing game they’ve ever been tasked to develop.

“[Baldur’s Gate 3] is the biggest RPG we’ve ever made, so our team is now over 200 people internally and together with all the externals, we’re heading over 300 people,” Larian Studios founder Swen Vincke said in an interview. “It’s a very big production. It’s the biggest that we’ve ever done.”

It sounds like the Dungeons and Dragons community won’t have much longer to wait until Baldur’s Gate 3 arrives and frankly, we can barely contain our excitement.
