New Batman Game Rumors Ignite Once More With ‘Batman: Arkham Crisis’
The Arkham series was an incredible addition to the Batman franchise, placing players in the boots of the Dark Knight over the course of an incredible story line filled with nods and appearances from the hero’s expansive rogue’s gallery. While the series seemingly ended with Batman: Arkham Knight, a new rumor further adds to the idea that Rocksteady is working on yet another Batman title, this time focusing on the Court of Owls.
According to a recent report, an alleged play-tester recently got their hands on a playable build for a new title by the name of “Batman: Arkham Crisis.” The report indicates that game will be far more intricate than ever before, from side missions that go deeper into the Batman’s lore, to a massive open map with a complete day and night cycle.
The bread and butter of the game will focus on a lengthy campaign surrounding the Dark Knight and the mysterious Court of Owls. Along with the impressive brawler combat that previous titles have had, the report suggests that the developers are shooting for the “Game of the Year” with Arkham Crisis and hints at a release date sometime around Halloween.
There are also hints of new features such as the debut of the Batwing. allowing players to use it as a means of travel throughout Gotham or even as aerial support in combat. There is also an indication that the game will also allow for co-op gameplay, possibly giving way to seeing playable allies of the Bat like Robin, Nightwing, or Batgirl to jump into the fray. Unfortunately, no particulars on what secondary characters would be making an appearance within Arkham Crisis.
For those that may not know, the Court of Owls is a secret criminal organization within the DC universe that kidnaps child performers from the circus and raises them to become highly trained assassins known as “Talons.” With the long and mystical history of the court, it would make for an interesting story and would definitely work for the high quality game that the report suggests might be on the way. It also helps that the Court has been established within the Arkham universe already, with a poem referencing the group appearing in Arkham Origins.
However as with any rumor, none of the information revealed in the report has been confirmed as of yet and as such the information should be taken with a grain of salt.
