How To Train Your Dragon 3 Will Mark The End Of The Franchise, Studio Confirms
The tale told in Dreamworks’ How To Train Your Dragon franchise has been an emotional rollercoaster, bringing fans on a wonderful ride full of adventure and discovery. Sadly, the story of Hiccup, Toothless, and the rest of the lovable dragons and vikings has an end. The third upcoming film will be the last, bringing an end to not only the film series but the Netflix TV series as well.
The tale is based upon a series of children’s books written by Cressida Cowell and has always had an end in sight. While fan’s may have been hoping to see the franchise continue on forever and ever, the film’s creator says it’s time. Director Dean DeBlois explained in a recent interview, “We thought about it for a long time and came up with what we think is a bittersweet way to say goodbye to these characters, but the right way.”
The thrid installment of the How To Train Your Dragon series is set to arrive in theaters on March 1st of next year. Are you ready to say goodbye?
