Battlefield V Making Changes To Customization In Favor Of Authenticity

Battlefield V

Battlefield V is boasting a more immersive experience than previous titles in the franchise, offering a myriad of options when it comes to customization. While the reveal of customization was pretty intense, it seems DICE has been listening to fans in terms of authenticity. Thankfully, Community Manager Dan Mitre spoke up about the concerns fans had in a recent livestream.

“We heard the community,” Mitre stated. “We’re still looking at World War II through DICE’s lens, but how forward, how crazy we got with some of that? We heard the community, we understand there were some concerns about, hey, where’s the authenticity? We want players to be excited about customizing their characters with authentic gear. We dialed it back a bit. It was pretty crazy. We wanted to offer some authenticity, and that’s important to us, that’s important to our players.”

While there might not be incredibly colorful robotic appendages and ridiculous add-ons, the team seems pretty serious about giving players as historical experience as possible. Fans who might like the wild customization needn’t worry, however, as Dan had this to say about those possibilities in Battlefield V:

Nothing is off the table. Again, we’ll watch how the community reacts, maybe we’ll try something. The nice thing about the armory, is we can put something out there, and if it doesn’t stick, it doesn’t stick. But first and foremost, we want to start with this authenticity approach.”

Battlefield V is looking to be the most expansive title yet, with additions like Grand Operations and Fortifications joining the highly inclusive customization options. With the added bonus of DICE continuing their storytelling single-player option, there is a good chance that Battlefield V will blow the others out of the water! There will be plenty to explore when the game releases for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on November 20th.

Are you in favor of a more historically accurate customization to start, or will this detract from player freedom and choice? Join in on the conversation in the comment section below! Don’t forget to follow DFTG on Twitter for live gaming and entertainment news 24/7!
