Battlefield 2042 Open Beta Gets A New Release Window
Battlefield 2042 was officially revealed earlier this year, offering players a new set of warzones from the near future as a reprieve from historical settings such as World War I and World War II. EA also released a trailer for Battlefield Portal, which will give players a Halo Forge- like experience that provides tools to build their own maps within a sandbox environment. The Battlefield Builder will let players use assets from across the Battlefield franchise, making the dream of seeing classic maps from various titles a reality. Now, an update has arrived concerning the beta period for the upcoming shooter, hopefully giving fans a good taste of what the future holds for the game.
During the EA Play Live event this year, the developer revealed that Battlefield 2042 will be seeing an Open Beta sometime in September. It’s not exactly a definitive date, but at the very least fans now have a closer time frame to look forward to. As it was previously revealed, fans who pre-order Battlefield 2042 will have Early Access to the Open Beta while everyone else will need to wait a few extra days before they’re able to get in on the action. The Closed Beta for the game also has no definitive release date but it would make sense for players to be able to see something happen soon.
Battlefield 2042 is currently set to release on October 22nd for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
