Genshin Impact Adding Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy As A Playable Character

Genshin Impact Adding Horizon Zero Dawn's Aloy As A Playable Character

It was easy to predict character crossovers between Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact considering they share the same developer, but Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy coming to Genshin? That’s a bit of a different story. Nonetheless, the agile hunter from the Nora tribe is officially making her debut on the popular mobile game later this year, coming first to PlayStation consoles and afterwards to all other platforms.

Genshin Impact developer miHoYo took to social media today to announce that Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy is coming to Genshin Impact as a free max rarity playable character. Not only that, but she is also joined by her Predator Bow. As such, the character is naturally listed as a bow user, and a Cryo element one at that. Did she just become best friends with Ganyu? Maybe!

As for how Genshin Impact players will be able to snag Aloy, she will be available for free for Travelers Adventure Rank 20 or higher starting later this year. The rollout will be in two separate phases. Phase I takes place after the Version 2.1 Update and is exclusive to those playing Genshin Impact on the PS4 or the PS5. Aloy will be granted to those that log in on either console between then and the start of Version 2.2 update maintenance, which is scheduled for October 13, 2021 at 5:59 UTC+8. Phase II kicks off after the Version 2.2 update and runs until the Version 2.3 update maintenance taking place on November 24, 2021 at 5:59 UTC+8. During Phase II, any Adventure Rank 20 or higher Traveler playing on any available platform can obtain Aloy through in-game mail.

Genshin Impact is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, and Android & iOS devices. Horizon Forbidden West will be releasing for PS4 and PS5 later this year.
