Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Confirmed During E3 for This Holiday Season (VIDEO)
Back in January of this year, Nintendo revealed it’s Switch console as well as various titles for the device coming soon. One of these titles was the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which also made an appearance today during Nintendo’s Spotlight Presentation at E3. According to the trailer presented during Nintendo’s time at E3, the Monolith Soft title will be releasing during the upcoming Holiday season.
While it isn’t a direct sequel to the original Xenoblade Chronicles released back in 2012, the second installment will give fans something similar in scale to its predecessor. Between massive environments, the incredible number of quests to do throughout the world, and the large enemies both in size and numbers, fans will have plenty to do within the realm of Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
The game will feature at least one major change from the prior entries. Character designer Masatsugu Saito joined the project, influencing the game with a new anime-esque aesthetic not found in previous titles. All in all, the next installment in the Xenoblade Chronicles series is shaping up to be an excellent fit into the Nintendo Switch generation of games.
While it wasn’t given a definitive date, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 does have a broad time frame for when to expect the upcoming title. A heroic tale is the perfect gift for the Holdiay season. Is the new anime style the right turn for Xenoblade Chronicles? Let us know what you thought of Nintendo’s Spotlight Presentation and the next installment in the Xenoblade series in the comments section below.
