As gaming online infrastructures require more resources to maintain, the big three gaming console companies have relied on subscription models to uphold their online services. One way that these online subscription services have sought to entice new users and maintain their veteran ones has been to offer new free games each month. Microsoft has been particularly aiming to do so with their Games With Gold program for Xbox Live subscribers. This has allowed Xbox users to try new games for Xbox Series X, Xbox One and even Xbox 360. Now, Microsoft has unveiled the Xbox Games With Gold May 2022 free titles lineup.

Microsoft has announced the Xbox Games With Gold May 2022 free games lineup on their official Xbox Twitter account. The big title available for all of the month of May is Yoku’s Island Express. In this game, players control a bug named Yoku, who must traverse the island of Mokumana in pinball-like face-paced action. Also available for free from May 16th to June 15th is The Inner World- The Last Wind Monk. This point-and-click adventure game has players control a flute-nosed hero named Robert who must protect his fellow flute-nose people of Asposia from the evil Emil.

The Games With Gold May 2022 free titles also includes some throwbacks to the Xbox 360. Classic game Hydro Thunder Hurricane has some wild boat-racing mayhem across eleven different environments. Lastly, Viva Pinata Party Animals brings the beloved animal pinatas from the colorful franchise into the multiplayer Mario Party-like chaos of mini games and board game fun. Hydro Thunder Hurricane is available from May 1st through the 15th, while Viva Pinata Party Animals will be available from May 16th through the 31st. Xbox Live subscribers will want to get them now before they miss their shot like a Stormtrooper.
