Xbox Game Pass Sign-Ups Have Been “Really Strong” According to Xboss Phil Spencer
Just a few days ago, Microsoft launched their new Netflix-like subscription service Xbox Game Pass aimed at featuring the console’s most popular titles without the need to shell out for potentially dozens of games. The gaming platform came to Xbox Live Gold members last week in the form of a funny Danny McBride video as well as an exclusive 14-day free trial, and according to the Xbox boss (Xboss) Phil Spencer, initial Game Pass sign-ups and reception has been pretty solid thus far.
I'm glad you like it. Just the start but the early signups and feedback have been really strong, thanks for that.

Game Pass is set to arrive to the greater Xbox public on June 1st and according to Microsoft, it will offer more than 100 Xbox One and Xbox 360 games at launch. The service’s considerable library has been said to be constantly shifting, with new titles coming and going every month, similar to Netflix. Unlike traditional streaming, however, Game Pass requires subscribers to download selected games directly to the hard drive for them to be playable, unlike streaming competitor PlayStation Now, where titles are played remotely.
The subscription service will cost $10 a month with titles Halo 5, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, and Resident Evil 0 being among the first round of picks. If Game Pass sign-ups continue to be strong after launch, perhaps we’ll be able to see a future where brand new games make the cut. One can dream.
What do you think of Xbox Game Pass? Is it a really cool way to play games, or would instant game streaming make the service better?
