Call of Duty WWII Could be Coming to the Nintendo Switch

Call of Duty WWII

Owners of the Nintendo Switch may have something to get excited about in the future. A recent Twitter post from Canadian Developer Beenox has sent fans into a bit of a frenzy as they take it to suggest a possible port for Call of Duty WWII. While the post isn’t specific, surrounding details make the possibility not so far fetched.

Activision, the publisher of Call of Duty WWII, was confirmed to be among the third parties that would support the switch. The post above, in French,  details that developer Beenox spent time with the Canadian Army to learn about their experiences. You can read the translation below:

To create games always more realistic, we have had the pleasure of receiving two representatives of the Canadian Army for us to talk about their experience and their job!”

Fans have speculated that this may mean that Beenox is working on a Call of Duty WWII for the Nintendo Switch. Beenox has been the developer for recent Call of Duty titles such as Black Ops 3 and Modern Warfare Remastered. Given that the company has also worked on Nintendo Wii and Wii U versions of The Amazing Spider-Man and Skylanders: SuperChargers, it stands to reason that the company would be a good fit for a port to the Switch, especially since they are listed as one of the companies that will be frequently partnered with the Switch.

If that seems too speculative to carry weight, the Call of Duty WWII announcement mentioned that the game’s availability may change to include other platforms. With the game having already been confirmed for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC – it makes for a good argument that the Switch may be added to the roster.

Call of Duty WWII

There is no clarity as to when an announcement for Call of Duty WWII might come, if at all. With Nintendo making an appearance at E3 this year, we may be getting one such announcement soon. Although, PS4’s exclusive DLC for the game may take center stage, and if a Switch Port is in the works – fans could be waiting a bit longer.
