WayForward Announces a Nintendo Switch Port for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero

Half-Genie Hero Nintendo Switch port

While the Nintendo Switch doesn’t have the largest library of games for a console out there, it has benefited from containing technology not immensely greater than its predecessor – the Wii U. This has allowed for Switch versions of Wii U games to be more easily remade for the new console and ready this early in the life cycle of the new console. Switch owners are currently loving Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a Switch version of the Wii U kart racer, and Lego City Undercover gives more players who missed out on the Wii U version a chance to check it out. Now, another Wii U game makes its way to the Switch as a Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Nintendo Switch Port has been announced.

WayForward, the developer of both the Wii U and Switch versions of the game, revealed the new port of the latest Shantae game on their official Twitter account. While no official date has been given, the Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Nintendo Switch port will be available this summer. The Tweet also mentions that this version will allow for HD Rumble support for the Switch Joy-Cons, but no information is given regarding how the game will implement the features.

Aside from the Wii U version, the game was also released on the PS4, Xbox One, PC and PS Vita. For those looking to play both at home and on the go, the Switch version will be a nice way to do both. What do you guys think? Are you going to pick up the Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Nintendo Switch port? What Wii U games would you like to see come to the Switch? Let us know in the comments below!
