WWE 2K19 Chooses AJ Styles As Cover Star, Announces “Million Dollar Challenge” (VIDEO)
Following this past weekend at WWE’s Money in the Bank event, WWE Champion AJ Styles is currently riding high from the resulting big win under his belt. However, the man dubbed “The Phenomenal One” is likely feeling even more so following his reveal as the newest superstar to grace the cover of WWE 2K19. The big announcement was made even more notable by the unveiling of a special contest that could net one lucky player a million dollars.
The “Million Dollar Challenge” itself sees Styles throw down the gaming gauntlet and issue a challenge for anyone that purchases the game. WWE’s resident “face that runs the place” being so confident in his gaming prowess, is prepared to put his controller where his mouth is and prepare a $1 million prize for anyone who can best him in WWE 2K19. The announcement made by Styles himself can be seen in the video below.
The rules for the big-dollar contest are pretty straightforward. All contenders need to do is submit a video of why they deserve a shot at the “champ who runs the camp,” with the four top submissions competing for the coveted face-off with AJ Styles. More details regarding the contest’s guidelines haven’t been laid out yet, but will be fully revealed on the official 2K site as the contest draws to a start date.
As the yearly-releasing title has only recently been announced, details about the game’s new gameplay tweaks, roster additions, or potential DLC have yet to be revealed. At this time, it’s probably the safest bet to assume big stars like Ronda Rousey and John Cena will surely be included. WWE 2K19 is scheduled to release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 9th.
What do you think? Are you glad to see AJ Styles on the cover of WWE 2K19, or should that honor have belonged to the newly-crowned “Monster in the Bank” Braun Strowman? With the incredible leaps in the Women’s division over the last year, should a female wrestler have taken the spot instead?
