Ronda Rousey WWE Debut Won’t Affect Appearance In UFC 3 – Here’s How

Ronda Rousey WWE

The wrestling world is still reeling from WWE’s epic Royal Rumble event that happened over the weekend. Not only did the first ever 30-woman rumble take place, but former UFC champion Ronda Rousey revealed herself as a full-time member of the WWE roster. The new Ronda Rousey WWE commitment is spectacular to say the least, but it’s also called into question whether she’d be featured in the EA Sports game UFC 3. Fortunately, it seems her digital entry into the octagon is safe for the time being.

As Game Informer confirms with EA, Rousey will still feature in the sports title despite not currently being employed with UFC. While this initially seems odd, the behind-the-scenes licensing required to use her likeness was likely completed months ago, allowing for Rousey to seemingly appear in both UFC and WWE at once. Though seemingly possible, it’s unknown if Rousey is planned to be included in WWE 2K18 as a DLC character.

Ronda Rousey famously featured on the cover of EA Sports’ UFC 2 alongside current UFC 3 cover star Conor McGregor. A fighter based on her was also put into the game’s roster, which coincidentally included former WWE alum CM Punk. Current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar might have joined the game as well after he briefly returned to the UFC in 2016, but it’s presumed his contract conflicted with these plans. The most recent game, UFC 3, will launch on February 2 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
