Uppercut Games’ City of Brass Looks BioShockingly Indiana Jones-ish (VIDEO)

City of Brass

If you were to take the collective minds of creatives that have helped bring about such titles as BioShock, Submerged, and Epoch, and then combined that with an Arabian Nights/Indiana Jones love child, you’d have Uppercut Games’ upcoming City of Brass. The rogue-lite will offer players the experience of searching out treasure while armed with a scimitar and a whip. In fact, here is what the game’s website has to say about it:

Leaping from the pages of the Arabian Nights, adventure awaits in the accursed City of Brass – a place of legend, filled with danger and reward. Infested with mischievous spirits and deadly traps, its shifting streets are brimming with the wealth of a nation.

Assume the role of a cunning thief, battling to reach a fabled treasure at the city’s heart, wielding a blade and whip that can be used to disarm, trip or stun enemies, to swing to safety, grab inaccessible objects or even break through flimsy barricades.

Leap across pits, slide under blades, dodge spears, and sidestep poison gas traps – all the while manipulating hazards to your advantage against diverse spirit foes.

Sounds like a ton of fun, right? City of Brass also comes with a plethora of gameplay features, and with the environments being procedurally-generated, no two experiences will be identical. If your whip and blade aren’t working out for the enemies before you, throw a brick, toss an explosive vase, and even pressure them into one of the many traps around the city. There are also Genies hanging around, however, not all of them are willing to help. Seek them out in order to gain gear, secrets, upgrades, and more. Check out some of the action in the trailer below:

City of Brass is set to arrive for PC sometime this fall on Steam. Both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will have to wait until next year.
