New Photos of Thor: Ragnarok Reveal a New Look for the Asgardian Hero
Two key characters in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) were missing from last year’s Captain America: Civil War, Thor and Hulk (aka Bruce Banner). The two characters will be seen in this November’s Thor: Ragnarok, and new images from the movie have surfaced. If you weren’t already excited enough, these will surely get the hype running through your comic-to-film loving veins.
Entertainment Weekly has released a set of exclusive photos for the upcoming film which has an incredible lineup of actors and actresses. The photos show Thor (Chris hemsworth) sporting a new, much shorter haircut than in previous MCU outings. Asgardian barbers are underrated, and deserve more recognition. Not only is The Odin’s Son sporting a new do, he’s also donning some new armor that has elements of previous armor worn, but is profoundly different than that which we are accustomed. Furthermore, our favorite Asgardian hero seems to have misplaced his beloved Mjölnir and is equiped with a pair of swords, a mace, and a heavy duty shield.
The remaining photos give us a glimpse of some of the other cast members that will play prominent roles in the third Thor movie. Photos of Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Hulk/Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) can all be seen in the gallery below. The most astonishing of the photos is that of actress Cate Blanchett in her Hela costume, which makes her almost unrecognizable.
In Ragnarok, Hela will most likely be the villain, and it is assumed that we will get to see an all out slobber-knocker between Hulk and Thor as they are pitted against each other in a Gladiator style battle to save Asgard. It also been confirmed that Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will also make an appearance in the film. This will, of course, lead more into what is to come in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War. Thor: Ragnarok is slated for a November 3, 2017 release, and we can expect an official trailer in the near future.
