Jeff Goldblum widely known as an eccentric personality and is often able to look at the world through a unique and relatable lens. In fact, a new show streaming on Disney+ called The World According to Jeff Goldblum has been giving fans a look at his perspective on a number of interesting topics. One of the series’ latest episodes delves into video games, taking a deep dive into the media from the competitive circuits to the impacts gaming has on health and more.
Jeff Goldblum’s Disney+ show features an interesting take on just about everything from sneakers to ice cream and does so in an attempt to understand and learn in an entertaining way. In Episode 6 of the show, he gives an open-minded opinion on everything video games, from sound design in mobile titles to the highly competitive world of esports, and everything in between. While Goldblum might not fully understand just what makes games so enjoyable for many people, he does appreciate the work and appeal of them.
At one point in the show, Goldblum is taken into the world of virtual reality, where he’s tasked with living out life as a humble tree. In his own words, the experience leads him to the conclusion that “gaming can be a vehicle for our advancement.” While gaming is certainly plagued with negative aspects like griefing and crunch culture, it’s hard to deny that games can be a gateway for making a positive change in the world. It all depends on how players and developers decide to interact with the gaming world in the future.
