Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher franchise is getting quite a lot of attention these days, with a successful game series based on the books, a shiny new Netflix TV series that’s even gotten into the streaming service’s Top 10 most popular shows of the year, and more. Throughout the franchise, Geralt has had numerous romantic encounters between Triss, Yen, prostitutes, and plenty of other characters to boot. One character that holds a different but equally special relationship with Geralt is Dandelion.  However, the bard has not seen any romantic advances and a fan has begun a petition to see the characters have love bloom between them in whatever CD Projekt RED plans to do for the Witcher 4.

The petition was begun by fan Artyom Pask on Change.org in the hopes of exploring the relationship between Dandelion or Jaskier in a romantic light. Pask explains that the connection between the two has been explored and presented quite well throughout the video game series, as well as through the original books and the Netflix series with Jaskier. However, the contrasting nature between the two could be explored further and has the potential to be a very comedic and beautiful thing.

The relationship between Geralt and Dandelion is a very unique and comedic one that has been portrayed very well in the books, games and most recently the Netflix series. Their relationship is one of contrast where Geralt takes the role as a dark moody character and his, probably best, friend and occasional side kick is often utilized as the comedic release. It is clear that, even though Geralt tries to hide it, the care about each other and have genuine respect for each other. This unique relationship has the potential to be a beautiful and very comedic story.”

Admittedly, it is unlikely that there will be any kind of romantic exploration between the two with whatever the developers hope to accomplish next in the Witcher universe. Perhaps there could be some one-off DLC or a mod that allows players to explore the idea for themselves. Fans of The Witcher Netflix series will need to wait quite a while for any new content, with the show needing some time to create and release a second season. On the video game front, CD Projekt RED is currently focused on the release of Cyberpunk 2077, and as such it will likely be some time before the studio sets off on new projects.
