The Witcher: Blood Origin Recasts Sophia Brown In Lead Role

Witcher: Blood Origin

The upcoming Netflix Witcher prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin recently picked up Michelle Yeoh as an elegant Elven warrior, though the show had previously lost one previous actress in the role of a character named Éile. Jodie Turner-Smith originally received the part, but the actress notably had to leave the project back in April due to scheduling issues. Now, the character has been recast with a new actress in Sohpia Brown.

A recent Tweet describes Éile as “an elite warrior with the voice of a goddess” who turned in her swords for the life of a nomadic musician. Unfortunately, after unforeseen events mark a grand reckoning the traveling minstrel’s newfound profession must be traded in for the way of the blade once more. Sophia Brown’s Éile will travel the Continent on a quest for vengeance and redemption in The Witcher: Blood Origin, though like the other two characters that have been cast so far, it’s difficult to say just how they’ll connect.

Sophia Brown is a British actress credited in films such as the 2017 live-action Beauty and the Beast, Disobedience, A Battle In Waterloo, and various British TV dramas. She will be playing a part alongside Michelle Yeoh’s Scían and Laurence O’Fuarain’s Fjall. There’s no word as to when the 6 part series is supposed to be ready for viewing but perhaps more information will be revealed soon as the show begins filming next month.
