Marvel’s Avengers Debuts New Black Widow Movie Skin (VIDEO)

Marvel's Avengers Black Widow

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to kick into high gear with the release of the new Black Widow movie. Repeatedly delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Marvel Studios spy thriller now debuts Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff in her own adventure as she and her family of operatives battle the might of comic book villain Taskmaster. Set to release in theatres and Disney Plus (via Premiere Access) July 9th, Marvel’s Avengers has now also recruited the covert Avenger for a new premium crossover skin.

As detailed in a recent blog post, Crystal Dynamics announced a special Black Widow outfit is now available in Marvel’s Avengers, with players able to nab the MCU-inspired threads in the Marketplace for 1400 Credits. The costume notably sports the same striking white appearance seen in the film, though, without Scarlett Johansson’s signature facial features or hairstyle, likely for licensing reasons. A closer look at the new Black Widow outfit can be seen in the video below.

This new Black Widow cosmetic isn’t the first Marvel Studios’ costume to make it into Marvel’s Avengers, but it’s certainly one of the more timely additions to the superhero title. The past few months have seen the introduction of several other MCU costumes based on their appearance in Avengers Endgame; including Captain America’s chainmail uniform, Iron Man’s Bleeding Edge armor, Hawkeye’s Ronin costume, the Smart Hulk transformation, and even Black Widow’s traditional black attire; all also available as outfits in the Marketplace.

For this particularly Widow-y occasion, Marvel’s Avengers is also bringing back the Red Room Takeover event that began and ended this past May, allowing players to once again battle through the event’s formidable HARM Room challenges from now through to July 22nd. Participants are also chanced to earn (or purchase) access to an exclusive Red Room Takeover nameplate in case players missed the boat the first time around.

Marvel’s Avengers is available now for PC, Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
