The Witcher 3 Dev Team Reveals Cancelled “Focus Mode”

Witcher

The Witcher game franchise based upon the fantasy novel series written by Andrzej Sapkowski recently reached the age of 11 years old. In celebration, the developer CD Projekt RED has been showing off some concepts and scrapped ideas that never made it into the game. The latest of these cancelled features is a “Focus Mode” that could give fans a look inside monsters and enemies.

CD Projekt RED revealed on the game’s official social media account that this “Focus Mode” feature would have allowed players to see and target the insides of any monster, allowing Geralt to deal damage to areas with great precision. Unfortunately, the X-Ray like ability never made it into the game and the developer didn’t reveal the reasons as to why.

The reveal of the unreleased feature marks the ninth day of CD Projekt RED’s birthday celebration. There’s a few more days to go before the party is over and there’s surely plenty of art and features fans haven’t seen yet. What could the future reveals hold? Is there anything you’d like to see from the developer?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.  Let us know your thoughts on The Witcher 3’s cancelled “Focus Mode” feature and more in the comments section below.
