Taserface Teased With New Details From the Upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Film
Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 is right around the corner promising sweet tunes and a whole lot of hilarity. With the latest film comes a new plot line, adorable baby groot-filled goodness, and new characters. One of those characters, Taserface, may not be as well-known, but that didn’t stop him from capturing interest of future movie goers. Actor Chris Sullivan took a moment to talk about Taserface to give a little more insight into what fans can expect.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sullivan talks about how different Taserface was for him to play:
Talk about a swing in character type. Taserface is an intergalactic space pirate, who is in the service of Yondu, and a member of the Ravengers. Taserface is loud. Taserface is the defensive lineman on your high school football team. He’s a very loud individual who enjoys pushing people around.”
The character himself will be buried under massive amounts of prosthetic and makeup, so it will be extra fun for Sullivan fans to try to recognize him in his new role. He also talked about his transformation in the interview, going into just how much work went into him becoming fully integrated with his character:
The makeup process started off at about three-and-a-half hours and we whittled it down to about two-and-a-half, as the makeup team got more and more practiced at it. It was quite involved. But every morning, bright and early, I shared a makeup trailer with Michael Rooker. So, it was he and I sitting next to each other, getting ready for work, and sharing stories of our lives! Michael Rooker is like the Merle Haggard of the acting world. Never a dull moment. Never a dull story. I’ve been a huge fan of his since Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. I don’t think there’s anyone like him. I think he’s singular. I would pay money to sit next to him and get into makeup. Don’t tell Marvel that!”
Joking aside, Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 is shaping up to be an enjoyable and entertaining movie experience. And it’s only going to get better, as Gunn – the film’s director – recently confirmed that he’s already hard at work on the third installment of the Guardian’s franchise!
Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 will be dropping into theaters May 5th, 2017! Are you excited to see Star Lord and the rest of the gang back at it?
