Street Fighter V DLCs Include a Remastered Thailand Stage and School Costumes Coming Next Week
Available beginning next week will be brand new school costumes for three characters in Street Fighter V and a completely remastered Thailand stage returning from its initial introduction in Street Fighter II. Not only is there a greater amount of detail that comes with the increase and evolution of graphics and technology, the colors are more vibrant and the design remaining “as true to the original as possible”. From the iconic giant bell at the center of the stage, to the gold and red color scheme, and statues. Additionally, Chun Li, Juri, and Ryu are receiving school themed outfits as individual DLCs. Check out the gallery below for a closer look at the concept art and final looks:
According to the Capcom blog, Ryu’s outfit is inspired by the outfits worn by a bancho/banchou who was the leader of a group of school aged male delinquents in the 20th century. One of the most identifiable characteristics of these groups was the fact that many sported a pompadour hairstyle or slicked back using a gratuitous amount of gel. Of course, there was a female equivalent of these gangs as well. As for Juri, she’s displaying a more gothic punk school girl outfit, complete with black lacquered nails, lipstick, and accessories reminiscent of Hot Topic items. In contrast to the other two, Chun Li has a softer and a cleaner outfit to “represent her as an Honor Roll student” to go with the “atmosphere of her origin”.
The outfits will be available for individual purchase at the price of $3.99 as soon as April 24th. The price for the Thailand stage is also $3.99, but will become accessible a day later.
