Sony Talks God of War – Claims it’s the “Most Brutal” Title in the Franchise (VIDEO)
When the new God of War title made its big splash at this year’s E3, fans of the beloved franchise couldn’t wait to see what Santa Monica Studios had in store with the new direction the series is taking. Seeing the son up close and personal, the combat within the game, and more about the upcoming story; there’s a lot to look forward to with the next phase in this tale. At the GameStop Expo 2017 conference, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Vice President of Marketing Asad Qizilbash took a moment to talk about the new title and claims it’s the “most brutal” installment yet. Take a look at his segment in the video below:

The full video is linked above but the specific mention of the game’s brutality begins around the 5 minute mark. New gameplay and a look at the title mechanically can be seen above giving more insight into what the protagonist will face in his latest adventures. The 1v1 brawls also receive a spotlight with the importance of strategy and the realism behind the close-combat tactical representation.
The addition of Kratos’ son Atreus brings a new level to the game overall that hasn’t been seen thus far. Because of this, Santa Monica wanted to dive into the protagonist’s relationship not only with his son, but with the player as well. In order to create a more fermented relationship, the team took extra care with not only combat, but the “moments in-between.” For this, they boast that fans of the God of War story will not be disappointed with the latest installment.
God of War does not have a release date at this time, though its launch window is set for early 2018 for the PlayStation 4. Are you looking forward to meeting Atreus for yourself?
