Latest Rick and Morty Season 3 Sneak Peek is All About Mad Max and BDSM Design (VIDEO)
Lots of news this month in terms of Rick and Morty revelations! Brought to you and sponsored by Snickers, Adult Swim (AS) and Cartoon Network (CN) presented a sneak peek into the design and inspiration behind Rick and Morty season 3 episode two “Rickmancing the Stone”. The general thematics is influenced by the Mad Max franchise with a raunchier approach to BDSM-styled character design. Highlighted in the video is a gas mask accessory seen on one character, which attaches their face to their genitals. Ah, yes. Rest assured, it’s not supposed to be an accurate representation of the BDSM community as a whole, but it is totally super scientifically accurate. Remember – this is R&M we’re talking about here. The second episode of Rick and Morty season 3 takes place in a “diesel-powered, vehicular field of death and nihilism” while playing around with themes related to the intertwining fates of sex and violence. As thoroughly explained by writer Ryan Ridley then insert suggestive hand gestures and interlaced fingers:
I mean obviously there’s an S&M influence in the characters in the post-apocalyptic world. That’s what it is all about, man. You’re gonna be wearing masks with spikes and chains, and exposed muscles, and things tied around their body parts. Go back to the primal when it’s post-apocalypse – sex and violence and how they intertwine.”
It has been a turbulent time without this dynamic duo, but their presence in the world of entertainment is fast approaching. The next season for Rick and Morty will premiere on July 30th, 2017.
