Resident Evil 2 Gameplay Trailer Reveals 'Unstoppable Tyrant' (VIDEO)

The folks over at Capcom have released a brand new gameplay trailer for its long anticipated Resident Evil 2 Remake, and predictably, it’s the stuff of nightmares. The new trailer features Claire Redfield and shows a few instances of her squaring off against a Tyrant, who is oft-times referred to as “Mr. X.” There’s a reason why the name of the trailer includes the phrase ‘Unstoppable Tyrant.’ See for yourself below:

As seen in the trailer, Mr. X truly is a force to be reckoned with, possessing enough strength to lift a helicopter out of his way during his pursuit of Claire. Most of his moves seem to involve grapples, and if he misses Claire he seems to slow down for a second or two before resuming his pursuit. Claire is seen pumping bullet after bullet into Mr. X, and it seems like her grenade launcher is the only thing capable of slowing him down.

As Claire flees the enemy, we are shown several different locations within the game, including an extended look at what appears to be a library. The last few seconds of the trailer switches over to Sherry Birkin in an orphanage, revealing that at some points during the game players will have control of her. With the release date for the Resident Evil 2 Remake less than two months away, it will be interesting to see what other iconic enemies Capcom chooses to feature in trailers just like the one shown above. Here’s hoping they’ll be a bit less terrifying.

The Resident Evil 2 Remake releases on January 25th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
