Overwatch Summer Games Event Returns (VIDEO)

As we bathe in the midst of the Summer heat, some folks will go outdoors while others will gladly escape the madness by staying indoors. With returning events like the Overwatch Summer Games, gamers can enjoy all the glory of Summer activities without leaving their home. Sounds like a win-win. This year, Blizzard brings back the Summer seasonal event with weekly challenges, brand new skins, prizes, and Lucioball. Check out the announcement below:

Throughout the duration of the Overwatch Summer Games, players can participate in weekly challenges through the various PvP game modes – Quick Play, Competitive, or Arcade – to unlock various gears and prizes from sprays, icons, and even epic skins for Mei, Reinhardt, and Reaper.

Lucioball makes its anticipated return to Arcade Mode, letting heroes “boop the ball” into their opponent’s goal posts at international venues. Visit the scenic Rio de Janeiro’s Estádio das Rãs or the Sydney Harbor to play a few matches of amped up soccer. Want to learn how to play? Here’s how the Overwatch team explains it:

How To Play Lucioball

  • Team up to boop the ball into the opponent’s goal. The team that scores the most points before time runs out wins the game.
  • Sate your competitive appetite with skill rating, leaderboards, and the toughest opponents Lúcioball can offer.
  • Test your skill in Rio de Janeiro’s beautiful Estádio das Rãs, the scenic Sydney Harbour Arena, and the striking Busan Stadium.

Which skin do you think stands apart from the rest this year? With weekly challenges, tons of new outfits to win, and the return of Lucioball, there’s no shortage of Summertime fun in Overwatch.
