Red Dead Redemption 2 DLC Will Reportedly By Like Undead Nightmare But With Aliens

Red Dead Redemption featured an interesting DLC that took players into a peculiar adventure consisting of zombies roaming around the Old West. Called Undead Nightmare, there has yet to be any kind of similar expansion content for Red Dead Redemption 2, though fans have long hoped for a DLC of that nature to be announced by Rockstar Games for the sequel. That said, it seems that the developers may be going in an even stranger direction.

A post to Reddit by user throwaway11113454 has leaked a bit of information concerning the Western sequel’s DLC. Firstly, the post claims that players will be playing as Arthur this time around rather than John Martson. Rather than hunting down zombies, players may have some aliens to look forward to, and the post references a UFO that can be sighted within the game as a tease for what’s to come.

As shown, part of the Reddit post was removed, though the user basically confirmed that a narrative DLC that involves aliens is on the way that should release late this year/early next year. There is also some information that appears to back up claims that a Red Dead Redemption Remaster is in the works. Rather than a traditional remaster, however, it seems as though this will be a complete rework of the game, bringing new dialogue and features from Red Dead Redemption 2. Here’s the full dialogue from the post:

“You’re still Arthur in this DLC. That’s I was told about that. And for Red Dead Redemption remastered is not actually a remaster, it’s a remake. All the new features from the new game are going to be imported into RDR 1 plus the map is getting expanded a bit to make it [vaster] (rdr 2 map is not apart of this because it is not needed in the story, it’s mostly just making the desert bigger.) Rob has came back and recorded new lines of dialogue to help connect the two stories (References to Arthur and events of rdr 2 naturally) it was originally slated for the 10 year anniversary of RDR 1 but bugs have hindered the development a bit so they’ve shifted 2/3 of the Red Dead Online team to the Remake (hence the lack of an update as of yet.) And it’s currently in the timeframe of being released either December 2020- January of 2021. Could be earlier but who knows at this point. As I’ve said believe me or not. But you’ll see soon enough!”

As is customary with these types of things its important to take the information with a grain of salt until the developers come out and confirm it for themselves. Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. We’re still waiting on a possible PC version of the game.

Would you be interested in seeing Arthur take on an alien invasion? Could players possibly get some wild alien technology to play with?
