Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Extended PS5 Gameplay Demo Revealed (VIDEO)
As promised, Gamescom 2020 Opening Night brought with it a veritable slew of game updates alongside a few intriguing world premieres. Towards the end of the presentation, host Geoff Keighley revealed that a special, uninterrupted gameplay demo for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart had been prepared for the event, given that previous glimpses of the game have been sparse and segmented with outside dialogue.
The new Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart extended gameplay demo kicks off with our heroes coming across their archnemesis, Dr. Nefarious. As one would expect, all hell quickly breaks loose, with Nefarious utilizing the Dimensionator to rip apart reality and, well, give us a pretty good show while he’s at it. There’s a lot going on during the demo, though the PlayStation 5 appears to take everything in stride with no dips in performance. Check out the trailer below:
“Ratchet and Clank find themselves at odds with their archnemesis, Dr. Nefarious,” the video’s description reads. “Only this time, he’s equipped with the dangerous Dimensionator, a device with the power to travel to other dimensions. The duo fights their way through an army of hired Goons in Megalopolis until something happens and they are ripped apart. Where are they now?”
Where are they indeed? The answer is exclusively on the PlayStation 5, with the game slated to release at some point during the launch window of Sony’s next-gen console.
