Rainbow Six Extraction New Release Date Potentially Revealed

Rainbow Six Extraction

The road to Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction has been a long one, from its origins as a sci-fi exploration game teased all the way back in the OG Watch Dogs to a limited-time game mode in Rainbow Six Siege, and now a full-fledged title. The game was originally set to arrive in September of this year for a variety of platforms but the title was delayed into next year. Now, it seems players may have a new launch date set for the upcoming cooperative shooter.

As revealed in an archived blog post detailing the ins and outs of the game, the page was shortly updated with the new release date of January 20th, 2021 for Rainbow Six Extraction. In the time since, the page was seemingly updated another time, from the specific date to a more simple January release window. The upcoming title has been delayed numerous times now and while the page did officially come from Ubisoft themselves, there’s been no confirmation from the publisher as to whether the previous change may have been accurate or not.

Rainbow Six Extraction

The upcoming cooperative shooter will see players in a squad of 3 as they enter into an Incursion zone and combat an alien presence called Archæans while completing a variety of objectives. Players can choose between 18 Operators with various abilities, weapons, and gadgets for each mission, but an element of danger exists for each character. During an Incursion, players can choose to not extract in favor of sticking around to complete more objectives and defeat stronger enemies. Should they fall and fail to extract by the end of each mission, that Operator will no longer be usable until they are rescued in a future deployment.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction is set to become available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
