PUBG Server Issues Rendering the Game Unplayable – Developer Responds

PUBG server issues

With great power comes great responsibility; something developer Bluehole is quickly realizing as its battle royale game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has skyrocketed to the top of the Steam charts.  While the title has had its share of frequent server hiccups and bugs, Bluehole has for the most part been hasty in its fixes and communications, something other developers should take note of.  That said, over the past few days there have been some severe PUBG server issues.  Many players have been unable to play the game at all, while many others have had less than enjoyable experiences due to rampant network lag and issues with the game’s main menu screen.  While Bluehole has continuously released Tweets regarding maintenance scheduling and fixes, the developer seems to be flailing like the arms of a parachuting PUBG player as it tries to fix the incoming flood of PUBG server issues and crashes.

For those that are still having trouble getting into a game, there are unfortunately very few workarounds to try in an attempt to temporarily resolve the issues.  One such workaround involves refreshing the game’s main menu; the refresh button is at the top right of the screen in the shape of an arrow.  Refreshing the main menu can help with issues involving readying up, as well as problems loading the main menu.  It can also help resolve main menu graphical mishaps, though not correcting this issue will not negatively impact your experience in-game.

While it is at least partially understandable for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to still be experiencing issues as it is still in Early Access, putting its player base through server issues and crashes as often as it has can lead to the title being dethroned on Steam.  Hopefully the developer gets things turned around quickly, so it can get back to releasing new content for the fans.  PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available for PC and Xbox One, with an Xbox One X version arriving next year.
