PUBG's Miramar Map Arrives On Xbox One Test Servers This Month, Details Here

While the PC version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently enjoying the latest new features, the Xbox One version – released four months ago – is still playing catch-up, with its player base currently restricted to the first released map, Erangel. Now, it appears that the Miramar map is coming soon to the Xbox One version, with the developer releasing a statement revealing what’s coming to the game alongside the massive desert map.

In a statement released over on the PUBG forums, the developer revealed that the Miramar map will be arriving on the Xbox One test servers before the end of April, with the implementation into the live servers expected at some point in May. In addition to the new map, PUBG Corp revealed that “several gameplay optimizations” will be implemented in the Miramar test server update, providing two examples that can be seen below:

  • Our art asset streaming process has been optimized. This will somewhat improve the “play-doh” effect on textures and will mitigate interior prop pop-in issues. This will make a big difference in the early phases of each game.

  • Our character movement system was also causing some problems, and has now been optimized. Performance and stability will be better even when many players gather in one location. We expect this to help out the game’s performance past the mid-phase.

The developer is also promising event matches and custom matches in the future, as well as “new and improved designs” for the game’s lobby menu and screens. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now available for PC and Xbox One.
