Epic PUBG KFC Crossover Twitch Event Gives Out Real Chicken Dinners

PUBG KFC

Given the growth of digital media and social media in the past few years, major brands have been eager to appeal to gaming audiences on the web. One such brand that has heavily capitalized on gamer culture the past few years is KFC. From a new VR experience that teaches the art of chicken cooking to the inclusion of Colonel Sanders in WWE 2K18, the world famous chicken restaurant has been quick to acknowledge video game culture. This weekend, their efforts continue with a new PUBG KFC cross-promotion event on Twitch that will give out prizes, including real-life chicken dinners.

KFC has announced the PUBG KFC event on their various social media accounts, including their official Twitter account seen above. On March 23rd and March 24th, several Twitch streamers will be playing and live streaming PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, during which viewers can win prizes related to PUBG and KFC. The participating streamers include Sacriel, Sequisha, AnthonyKongphan and DrLupo. If viewers watch any of these streamers win the coveted chicken dinner in PUBG, they can potentially win a $5 KFC gift card by entering the new KFC bucket emote created for this event in the livestream chat and get a real life chicken dinner of their own.

In addition to these giveaways, KFC will also be giving out special “loot boxes” randomly to viewers of these special live streams. These “loot boxes” will feature special PUBG KFC crossover gear, including a survival spork, a Colonel Sanders-themed Ghillie suit and mask, a $50 KFC gift card, and a skillet. This certainly sounds like a fun and clever intersection for these two brands. One can only imagine if the combatants in the world of PUBG have ever tasted the fabled eleven herbs and spices.
