Pokemon Theme Song Drops Metal Cover With Original Vocalist (VIDEO)
Just about every 90’s kid knows the Pokemon theme song. The theme is so ingrained into our minds that it’s hard to not start singing along whenever the familiar tune is heard. Musician Jonathan Young has released a new music video playing on the heartstrings of fans everywhere, utilising the iconic theme and updating it with an impressive metal cover. As a special bonus, the original vocalist from the theme, Jason Paige lends his talents to create a wonderful fresh take on a nostalgic song.
The video starts with Young shredding on the guitar and pairing it with great vocals. As the song progresses, the faint sounds of a familiar voice can be heard ringing through, leading up to the appearance of the legendary Jason Paige. From there, the duo continues preforming the song as a metal power ballad, which strangely sounds very much like the original theme. Young even busts out a keyboard about halfway through while Paige dons a Pikachu onesie.
Both performers have impressive musical careers, especially Paige who has culminated years of experience preforming, though he seems to often return to the Pokemon theme song with several parodies and covers. Young has built himself up with quite a few different covers such as his versions of the Skyrim theme, One Punch Man theme, and several other Pokemon theme songs from various seasons.
