Brock and Misty Return to Pokemon in a Sun and Moon Anime Series Special
Pokemon — one of many beloved series that a proportionate number of gamers and TV viewers grew up on, but none as iconic as this. For those born in the ’80s and ’90s, it’s treasured not only for the inspiring message of friendship and adventure, but the trading card game that could place friendships on the line. Nevertheless, the original series was one of the more memorable ones and featured the dynamic trio of quirky kids — intrepid Ash (Satoshi), tsundere Misty (Kasumi), and maternal Brock (Takeshi).
Revealed by Japanese magazine publication Telubi-kun, a special two-part installment will showcase the return of Brock and Misty! Come forth September, episodes 985 and 986 reveal the original team uniting once again. Titled “An Alola! In Kanto! Brock & Misty!” and “Gym Battle! Z-Move VS Mega Evolution!”, the first episode features Ash’s return to the Kanto region in order to complete a school project, and it is there he visits his old friends again. In the next special, the three of them face off in a test of strength. This time, however, Misty appears with Mega Gyrados and Brock with Mega Steelix. Of course, Ash has Pikachu and his latest collection of companions.
The two-part special will initially premiere in Japan on September 14th and September 21st. Since the English dubbed version is still catching up, it may be sometime before Western residents get to see it first-hand unless someone subtitles them shortly after the debut. That would be a blessing for us all.
