PlayStation E3 2018 – A Full Recap Of Trailers From The Sony Showcase (VIDEO)

PlayStation E3 2018

Sony already had quite the slate of titles coming to the PlayStation 4 and E3 2018 has revealed that much more of the console’s exclusives, even debuting a number of other future projects. The event saw a brutal gameplay reveal of The Last of Us: Part II, Jack Sparrow’s swashbuckling debut in Kingdom Hearts III, and the gloriously gruesome premiere of the Resident Evil 2 Remake. Check out all the trailers from PlayStation E3 2018 below.

The Last of Us: Part II

The top of the Sony show brought out one of the more anticipated titles expected to be showcased: The Last of Us: Part II. The footage provides a touching scene between Ellie and an unknown love interest as it slowly transitions into a seemingly unrelated gameplay scenario. Once the switch happens, a series of deadly moments follow as Ellie takes out a series of dangerous-looking dudes with a combination of stealth and straight of brutality.

Call of Duty Black Ops III

For those who’ve been playing Call of Duty: Black Ops from the beginning, many of the series’ multiplayer maps have been played so often they’re considered classics by the community. Recognizing the maps’ continued popularity, Call of Duty is bringing four of them back for the modern day as part of Black Ops III‘s new Back in Black map pack. Jungle, Summit, Slums, and Firing Range are remastered and available now for PlayStation 4 owners.

Destiny 2 – Forsaken Expansion

Destiny 2‘s upcoming Forsaken expansion received its first trailer this past E3, and while it didn’t showcase much in terms of gameplay, but there was plenty focus delivered with teasing a foreboding story. The cinematic video depicts Cayde 6 and crew looking a bit worse for wear, teasing the tough mission ahead.

Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost Of Tsushima was a definite highlight of Sony’s E3 showcase, if not for the slick-looking gameplay, but for the sheer amount of gorgeous detail put into the samurai-storied adventure. We see our protagonist Jin Sakai make a deadly encounter with several foes, as well as an extended look at some seriously photo-realistic visuals. I mean, look at the field swaying in the wind! Look at it!

Trover Saves The Universe

So much Rick and Morty fun is to be had with Trover Saves The Universe. That’s to be expected as one of the men behind the Squanch-developed game is none other than series creator Justin Roiland. Hitting PSVR, off-the-wall humor takes up every second of the game’s PlayStation E3 2018 trailer, with the humor delivered in a similar fashion to the previous title Accounting.

Control

A trippy maze of transforming corridors seems to be the name of the game in Control. The game saw a trailer unveiled at the Sony-centered event, shedding light on protagonist Jesse Fadens and her mission to explore the inner structure of an ever changing building. Confusion and strategy seem to await in the bowels of Control, and also some pretty Inception-y visuals. At least we now know what Remedy Entertainment’s mysterious “P7” project was all about.

Resident Evil 2 Remake

Nobody saw the reveal of the Resident Evil 2 Remake coming. During the E3 trailer, the pieces began to come together when the presence of the mutated undead began to appear, and it finally hit the fan when Leon Kennedy made himself visible on-screen. The Resident Evil 2 Remake exists and it’s beautiful.

Kingdom Hearts III

Kingdom Hearts III has been the subject of much of this year’s E3, likely making up for the game’s long period in development. Fans got treated to a new piece of gameplay from the upcoming threequel showing off Sora and crew’s adventure with the Pirates Of The Caribbean, as well as the surprising assortment of other Disney-themed worlds players will stop along their adventure.

Death Stranding

Death Stranding has proven itself time and time again in provin how supremely strange it can be. Even with what we’ve seen so far, Hideo Kojima managed to top himself again at PlayStation E3 2018 with a new trailer. It provides some truly breathtaking visuals of Norman Reedus’s character Sam saying something about deliveries, a terrifying invisible being, and then at some point I’m sure we got a thumbs up from a baby. Kojima, you madman/genius! What is going on in this game?!

NioH 2

A sequel to the Dark Souls-esue NioH was announced in a surprise reveal, showing off a trailer but not too much else. Fans of the action-RPG are likely rejoicing at another adventure set in Feudal Japan, so we’ll have to see what direction this will go in the future.

Spider-Man

An epic new premiere of Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man was the main event of the PlayStation E3 2018 proceedings. The webhead is seen battling numerous baddies throughout the footage, with appearing villains from all over Spidey’s rogues gallery. Of course the game’s biggest bad Mr. Negative couldn’t help but make his presence known towards the end of the footage.

Déraciné

A far cry from the developer’s other title from E3, FromSoftware premiered a trailer for the all new VR title Déraciné. The game sees players inhabit the role of a spirit with the power to “manipulate the forces of life and time”, presenting a much more somber and artistic project than we’re used to with the normally action-heavy developer.
