No Man’s Sky Survival Mode – Prepare For Devastation (VIDEO)

After a very rocky release, No Man’s Sky is finally beginning to come around and redeem itself from the bad press it received since August. After the game’s Foundation update, which addressed most of the concerns of gamers, the developers have finally expanded this self-proclaimed “truly open world” experience by providing base building, farming for resources, and utilizing freighters for their intended purpose. While the free update added such things as new resources and technology, adjusting respawn and reload speeds for easier transition between plays, and… well, pretty much adding everything gamers had expected and never got out of the game’s vanilla launch, there’s one thing the developers added that may have been more than angry fans had expected: No Man’s Sky Survival mode is absolutely brutal.

Gamers looking for a challenging experience may have gotten more than they bargained for with the latest game play addition. Not only does No Man’s Sky Survival mode test your skills as an intergalactic explorer, but it tests your ability to not break the ever living hell out of your keyboard or controller in the process. Those who have had a chance to try out the newest mode of play so far, are reporting that the level of difficulty is far beyond human comprehension. The game takes no prisoners, and lays it all out on the line as you struggle with boiling hot temperatures, below freezing winds and dangerous enemies in a fight for literal survival in the interplanetary system. Check out the video below to get an idea of exactly how rage inducing this mode is and see if it’s a challenge you feel you’re ready for:

Recently, Hello Games released new patch updates that addressed remaining issues after the Foundation update. The patch was released on December 7th, and fixed the remaining bugs found in the game (according to the game’s official website, most of these bugs were tied to PC copies of the game, though Patch 1.12 was released for both PC and PlayStation 4). You can check out the full listing of the patch update’s fixes on the website to get acquainted with the update.

It’s taken Hello Games quite a bit of time to get out of the red-zone according to gamer satisfaction. After a recent investigation, the ASA deemed that the developers hadn’t pulled the wool over fans’ eyes. The developers worked very hard to push out the updates needed to make the game the playable experience fans were expecting from the get-go. It’s been a rough road so far, but Hello Games may have finally overcome the struggle of its troubling game launch. Now, it’s only a matter of time to see if anyone is lucky enough to master the No Man’s Sky Survival mode and prove themselves to be the greatest explorer in the galaxies.
