Mass Effect Jumps Into No Man’s Sky With The Normandy (VIDEO)

No Man's Sky Mass Effect Normandy

Crossovers are a beautiful thing in the gaming industry, usually resulting in a bit of fun that brings one game to another in some shape or form. The latest big crossover to happen sees the Normandy from Mass Effect possibly make a wrong turn and end up in No Man’s Sky.

No Man’s Sky players have been going on a scavenger hunt of sorts over the past week, looking for clues as to what the mysterious Historiographical Dosimeter could possibly be. That leads us to today, May 21st, when players reached the end of the mission only to find the SSV Normandy SR1 from the popular Mass Effect series. Check out the video below to get all of the goosebumps:

“This is a lovely little Easter Egg moment, and something hopefully no one was expecting,” Sean Murray said in a post on the game’s website. “We are thrilled and flattered that BioWare and EA let us pay tribute in this way. As huge fans of the series, it’s a lovely moment for sci-fi fans. Like everyone else we’ve been rediscovering the amazing universe of Mass Effect through the release of the Legendary Edition. I still have chills every time I see this incredibly iconic ship warping in, and was delighted to see so many people have the same reaction.”

The good news is that No Man’s Sky players now have a chance to add the Normandy to their frigate fleet permanently. The bad news is that there is only a small window during which this can happen, so should you wish to add the lovely ship from Mass Effect to your fleet, you’ll want to log on and take on the expedition before May 31st. After that, the Normandy crew likely has some important business to tend to on the Citadel.

No Man’s Sky is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and new-gen consoles. If it’s more Mass Effect you’re looking for, the Legendary Edition is now available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and new-gen consoles.
