Next Xbox Will Reportedly Be More Powerful Than PlayStation 5

Next Xbox PlayStation 5

The signs of the current hardware generation have been pointing towards its end being sooner rather than later, and the new generation looming large in the plans for Sony and Microsoft. Microsoft has been known to be working on their next Xbox for a while now, and Sony recently surprised many by having Mark Cerny reveal several big details and features about the device that will otherwise be considered the PlayStation 5. Well, it seems that Microsoft is ready to give Sony a run for their money, as a new report claims that the next gen Xbox will be “more powerful” than the PS5.

Journalist Ainsley Bowden recently shared the next Xbox report on his Twitter account. According to Bowden, several trustworthy inside sources at Microsoft have shared the same sentiments that the next Xbox will be more advanced than the PlayStation 5. This comes just days after Sony officially announced some of the impressive features that the PS5 will have.

Bowden, nor the sources, seem to give any specific details about what features or capabilities the next Xbox will have. Given the recent PS5 technical specs that were revealed, it would be implied that the new Xbox would have features as impressive as 8k graphics, ray-tracing, and 3D audio. The PS5 will also be backwards compatible with PS4 games, so the next gen Xbox will likely continue to offer backwards compatibility. Needless to say, for those on Team Xbox, this is likely going to be something of a win over PlayStation devotees.
