Next Hideo Kojima Game Might Be Announced “Quite Soon” (VIDEO)
Legendary game creator Hideo Kojima is well-known for heading impressive and ambitious projects with 2019’s Death Stranding and the majority of the Metal Gear series easily speaking for themselves in that regard. However, the creator’s road ahead has been a mystery, as only various teases have been left about what Kojima Productions may next have in store. However, it looks like fans might finally get answers if a recent interview is any indication.
As per an interview with YouTube channel Al Hub (via VGC), Kojima Productions art director and long-time Kojima collaborator Yoji Shinkawa revealed that a new game might be closer than many might think, with an announcement likely to happen “soon.” When asked about the awaited project, Shinkawa responded via translation from Aki Saito, “Well yeah, I am doing something, for sure, and I could tell you probably that we can announce it quite soon.”
After parting ways with Konami back in 2015, Hideo Productions spent the better part of its independence developing a sole project, Death Stranding. Since then, there has been little indication about what the studio may pursue next, though, various hints have encouraged speculation about the awaited next title. Kojima’s professed love for the horror genre suggests a scary new game might be in the works, or perhaps even a Death Stranding sequel. There’s also the possibility that Kojima might be working on a film or manga project instead. Whatever it is, “quite soon” surely can’t come soon enough.
