Hideo Kojima Shares Another Peek At His Desk For His New Game
Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima is up to his usual antics. While we’ve not gleaned much from Kojima’s new game teases since last year, the head of Kojima Productions has occasionally provided us with glimpses of his desk, where a picture is undoubtedly worth a thousand words. Now, Hideo Kojima has revealed a new look at his studio desk, showing off references to both Death Stranding and, er, Star Wars.
Hideo Kojima recently took to Twitter to offer up another tease to his new game. “Here’s my way of designing new title w/Yoji (Yoji Shinkawa),” Kojima wrote. “1st we discuss the setting for each character, the background, the world, the color, the characteristics, the roles, the images, ideas and keyword going back&forth via E-mail. WFH & 20 mins direct discussion. Mostly texting via iPhone.”

While his methodology is of course interesting, the bit and pieces shown off in the photo tell an interesting tale. Naturally the BB chilling out is a reference to Death Stranding, though Hideo Kojima could just be using it to obscure the sketch below it, which appears to be a picture of a Star Destroyer from Star Wars. Given that Kojima has made it widely known that he wants to work on a horror game next leads us to think that the sketch could be a simple red herring, but still…who wouldn’t want a Star Wars game made by Hideo Kojima? Likely plenty of folks, but that’s not the point here. Here’s hoping his next desk viewing will feature a neon sign that states plainly what he’s working on.
