New Star Wars Battlefront II Story Video Feature Puts Us Behind Imperial Eyes (VIDEO)

One of the most reassuring aspects of the upcoming Battlefront sequel for fans has been the confirmation that the game will feature a story-heavy single-player campaign. The trailers released so far seem to have made it clear that a narrative focused on a new character will be one of the biggest priorities of the development team. Now, a new Star Wars Battlefront II story video has been released that gives us a look at the development team’s mindset when they set out to create the new story for this much anticipated title. Check out the clip below:

It was released on the official PlayStation YouTube channel, which shows the creative leaders from Lucasfilm and EA Motive speak about their process in developing this story. EA came up with the idea to show events between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens from the perspective of Imperial individuals, particularly the TIE Fighter pilot Iden Versio seen heavily on the game’s cover art and promotional material to tell this new story. Much like The Force Awakens did with Finn, it seems that the developers seek to humanize the soldiers who don the infamous Stormtrooper helmets.

It certainly does appear to show an interesting and often overlooked point of view in the Star Wars universe. Also, we might get to kill Ewoks as Stormtroopers in this one – cool! What do you guys think about this Star Wars Battlefront II story video? What events in-between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens would you hope to see unfold in this new game’s story mode?
