New Overwatch ‘Oasis’ Map is Now Available (GALLERY)

Ah yes, the holidays have come to a close – the Christmas season is over and New Years Eve and Day have been celebrated. Overwatch concluded the holiday event that showcased awesome costumes, new player icons and sprays. A few characters received marvelous ones, and others – not so much. I mean, in comparison to Reaper’s holiday skin, for example? That’s tough competition. To keep the momentum going, the team at Blizzard launched the new Oasis map yesterday.

In late November, Don’t Feed the Gamers covered first impressions regarding design and map type. Safe to say, Oasis is gorgeous and absolutely luxurious. Check out our early exploration when it was still in PTR, below:

There is marble everywhere, as well as golden mandalas, half-boded omnic servants, lush gardens and more. In Oasis, there are 3 points of interests. Entirely a Control Map, every single point is considered a free-for-all, calling for a King of the Hill type play style. This means, whichever team manages to capture the point with 100 percent completion wins the round.

Even more entertaining is the ability for players to walk into a sea of traffic. If you’re interested in getting a character hit by futuristic, floating motor vehicles – you’re in luck. You can do just that. There are shop fronts in Arabic (translated here) and launch pads too. Oh yeah, there are insta-elevators for characters in dire need of a vantage point. Check out the launch pad located in the gallery of Oasis, below (second image):
