DONTNOD Entertainment made a name for itself with the smash hit series Life is Strange with its episodic installments of gut-wrenching style of storytelling. Aside from Vampyr, the studio’s been hard at work on a brand new original titled Tell Me Why. Tell Me why is a narrative adventure game about twin siblings Tyler and Alyson. It’s a thriller that follows their bond as they “unravel mysteries of their loving but troubled childhood” that takes place in Alaska.

To no surprise here, the latest DONTNOD series dabbles in mature themes of true life experiences, which may hit too close to home for some folks out there. Players will come face-to-face with difficult choices that will affect the outcome of this story. Check out the announce trailer for Tell Me Why below:

“The core mechanic of the game is the special bond Tyler and Alyson share and is also a theme strongly anchored into the DONTNOD storytelling approach,” game direct Florent Fuillaume said in a statement. “Over the course of the story, players will explore the identical twins’ different memories of key events and choose which memory to believe. Ultimately, the choices players make determine the strength of the twins’ bond—and the future course of their lives.”

What makes Tell Me Why all the more special is Tyler’s identity as a transgender man. Working alongside Microsoft and LGBTQ advocacy organization GLAAD, he is the “first playable videogame hero from a major studio and publisher who is also transgender.”

Furthermore, knowing how painful it is to wait for each episode as they come, DONTNOD will make the entire season of Tell Me Why will be available in Summer 2020 for PC and Xbox One. For now, that’s all the juicy information available on DONTNOD’s next tale to tell. Suffice to say, this is going to be another emotional roller coaster…and we’re in.
