Mortal Kombat 11 Director Teases Even More “Surprises” To Come

Mortal Kombat 11

Spawn will soon arrive in Mortal Kombat 11, much to the delight of fans. With the character closing out the title’s first Kombat Pack, focus now turns to what the developers might hope to do next for the fighting game. So far nothing has been officially announced by developer NetherRealm Studios and while that might worry fans, game director Ed Boon is here to assuage fans’ concerns.

After the epic red band trailer for Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge, Boon recently revealed at Final Kombat 2020 that MK11 will continue to receive plenty of support into the future. He explained that the developer has “a lot of surprises” planned as well, though unfortunately, he stopped short of giving out any more information on the matter.

Thank you everybody for supporting Mortal Kombat. We love to do these reveals at these events as a thank you for all of this support for all of these years. There is a lot more to come with Mortal Kombat as well, this isn’t the end of the whole support for this game. We’ve got a lot of surprises in store.”

Another tease happened in the form of a tease from event host Joshua Grey. He stated that while he couldn’t say anything about what’s to come, fans should still keep an eye on NetherRealm’s social media. “For more further information in regards to news down the line, THAT’S All I CAN SAY, make sure to follow all the social accounts,” Grey teased.

These recent teases come after rumors in recent months have shown characters such as the Evil Dead’s Ash, Sheeva, and Fujin could possibly be coming to the game. Whether or not these fighters could be scrapped additions of the first Kombat Pack or are part of a speculated second Kombat pack still remains to be seen. Of course, there’s plenty of content the developers could release aside from new characters, but for the moment these new words are all fans have to go off of.

Mortal Kombat 11 is currently available for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Is there anything you’d like to see make its way into Mortal Kombat 11?
