Metroid Prime 4 And Bayonetta 3 Rumored For Nintendo Switch In 2018

Bayonetta 3 Rumored 2018

Two of 2017’s biggest announcements were of the upcoming Nintendo Switch titles Bayonetta 3 and a fourth entry in the Metroid Prime series. While fans of both franchises have been waiting years for such exciting news, we may not have to delay the hype train for that much longer. According to a deleted post, several franchises have had their release windows revealed, with Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3 rumored to release sometime in 2018.

In a blog post on Nintendo Norway, the company looked back at the Switch’s success in 2017, highlighting the number of popular titles that have defined the hybrid console so far. The post goes on to tease what’s next for the year ahead by calling out the “exciting titles” set to release in 2018. It’s here where Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4 and Kirby: Star Allies are specifically named, hinting that development on these games is much further than previously thought.

The above text has since been deleted, and that could either support or conflict with the rumored 2018 release. For one, it’s entirely possible that this perceived gun-jumping was just a mistake, resulting in the site removing inaccurate info from the post. Seeing as Norwegian website is run by import company Bergsala and not Nintendo themselves, it wouldn’t be too inconceivable for a few details to be misinterpreted between the two.

On the other hand, it’s this kind of mix-up that could’ve put out authentic release information to begin with. In all likelihood, Bergsala would know details like this ahead of time and this latest post could’ve revealed too much for Nintendo’s comfort. Another recent report teasing Bayonetta 3‘s Summer release could also add credence to the 2018 window. As always, it should be stated that any unofficial news of this sort be taken with many grains of salt until Nintendo supplies an official statement. For now, Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4 and Kirby: Star Allies have yet to announce a release date.

What do you think? Will the Bayonetta 3 rumored release date of 2018 come to fruition, or is it unrealistic to assume Metroid Prime 4 will release any sooner than 2019?
