Report: Nintendo Switch Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption Announcements Coming Soon

Switch Grand Theft Auto V

Now that it has been revealed that Nintendo’s hybrid console has become the fastest selling system in the U.S., it’s likely that gamers will continue to see more and more third-party support on the platform. Some may recall the most recent Nintendo Direct, at which the Big N unveiled that Bethesda’s Doom, Skyrim, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus would be coming to the portable home console. Now that a new year is upon us, it’s time to look at the possibilities that the future holds, beginning with the potential Nintendo Switch Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption announcements that could be coming as early as next week.

Reddit user DasVergeben has recently taken to the website to dole out predictions like it’s Christmas morning all over again. Among the bounty is information regarding the upcoming Nintendo Direct, which is supposedly taking place next week. While the jury is still out as to whether or not to expect the event so soon, let us direct our attention at something that DasVergeben, who accurately predicted the announcement of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming to NetherRealm’s Injustice 2, has said.

GTAV having a Switch port release and likely around Q3 and highlighted in the Direct is something I heard. And I also heard Rockstar has something else planned for Switch outside of GTAV coming to it, which sounds like it may be a Red Dead Redemption remaster.”

As always, take this information with a heaping dose of salt, but the potential for Nintendo Switch Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption announcements seems rather probable. After all, GTA V has been an absolute juggernaut for gamers looking to play solo or in an online multiplayer setting, so it would make sense to come to the hottest new console. As for a Red Dead Redemption remaster, what better time than now to capitalize on the hype of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2.

Rockstar Games is certainly no stranger to bringing something to the Nintendo Switch. Back in November, they re-released L.A. Noire for the current generation of consoles, including the Switch. Taking complete advantage of the system’s hardware, it really breathed new life into the title. Perhaps doing the same for two other games could have the same effect, even though love for both is aplenty.
