IKEA Teaming Up With ASUS To Create Line Of Gamer Furniture
If there’s one thing that all gamers need to properly enjoy their pastime is furniture, such as desks and chairs. ASUS has sought to provide gamers such furniture through their Republic of Gamers division, and now, they will be partnering with IKEA to bring this gamer furniture to new markets.
IKEA has announced their new collaboration with ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) in a recent news statement on their official website. The two major companies will be developing a new line of furniture for gamers that will consist of 30 products. In the post, IKEA references that roughly 2.5 billion people in the world are gamers, yet that particular market does not frequently see any major furniture companies cater to their particular furniture needs. As such, IKEA is partnering with ASUS, which knows a thing or two about gaming. IKEA had this to say about their new partner and collaborative gaming furniture line:
“Republic of Gamers (ROG) is one of the leading brands in gaming industry, designing high quality, innovative hardware and gear for gamers. By teaming up with ROG, IKEA wants to combine home furnishing knowledge with ROG’s expertise in creating exceptional gaming experience. Together, we set out to help the many gamers (and their families) welcome gaming home through developing the new range of affordable and ergonomic gaming furniture & accessories, designed to increase performance while also blend in beautifully to homes.”
The new products are being designed at the IKEA Product Development Centre in China, and both professional and hobbyist gamers are being consulted to ensure the products meet the needs gamers have. The new furniture will release first in China in February 2021, with other markets to follow in October 2021. This is quite a brilliant partnership to see form, and hopefully their gamer desks and chairs are comfortable and not difficult to put together with an allen wrench and come with Swedish meatballs.
